OTTAWA – According to a recent report by the federal spending watchdog, three crucial agencies were found to be ill-equipped in terms of capacity and tools to adequately shield Canadians from cyberattacks and combat the escalating threat of online crime. Auditor General Karen Hogan outlined in her Tuesday report that there were significant issues in response, coordination, enforcement, tracking, and analysis within and among these organizations. The review covered the RCMP, the Communications Security Establishment’s cyberspy agency, and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.
